Excited to meet you! My name is Chelsea and I'm a photographer in Missoula, MT.

I'm passionate about creating authentically. I believe originality is in what you can uniquely offer. I grew up an artist on a small farm in Montana, no concrete references, working off what inspired me in nature and the things I loved. I don't scroll Instagram looking for the next idea to profit off of, I don't promote my work using other photographers' photos. I prioritize creating concepts from what's around me - items I own, amazing thrift finds, interesting spaces I scout on walks, and connecting with creative individuals in my community.

I graduated a Journalism major, with a focus in broadcast. I didn't like photography anymore when I took my first job at a news station. 

But if you took a deeper look at my work during college, you would've seen it wasn't 'journalistic' - the stories were descriptive, painterly, highlighting people doing art that mattered to them. 

I've had a camera in my hand most of my life, thanks to my Dad, but only became more serious about joining the photo community in 2020. Most of my gear is hand-me-down! Taking photos is an important outlet for me, and I hope that when you work with me, you find it a healing experience as well. :)

When I'm not taking photos, I'm in the river, up a mountain, or enjoying the many free community events Missoula has to offer. In the home, I'm editing or watering my 100+ plants! I'll make you the best matcha you've ever had (in Montana). I grew up in MT and I'm happy to continue to make art here and meet new people! Let's explore. ✨
